Letter: Democrats should stand by Biden

The Biden-Trump debate proved to be disappointing for me. Disappointed that Joe Biden appeared to maybe be suffering from the effects of a cold and maybe not up to speed because of possible effects that a cold medicine might be causing. In spite of him obviously not being up to speed that evening, I’m still for Joe. I’ve always supported Joe. And always will. Shame on those Democrat leaders that mere minutes after the debate ended were saying, “We’ve gotta replace Joe.”

Back in 2016, didn’t Trump cause panic in the upper levels of the Republican Party when he happened to be near a live microphone as he was telling Billy Bush all the sexual things he had done to women? Didn’t those Republican Party leaders react in pure panic, calling for him to drop out of the race?

But he didn’t and he ended up being elected president. Those Republican Party leaders that only days earlier were calling for him to drop out were soon again solidly behind him.

If Trump could be so quickly forgiven for his disgraceful remarks, why should Joe Biden be expected to step down simply because he had a “fuzzy” performance?
