Letter: Facts support Biden in election

I would just like to remind all voters of a few things:

1. Donald Trump is proclaiming a border crisis, yet he actively suppressed a strong bipartisan-supported border bill last February.

2. Mr. Trump’s 2016 platform was promises of jobs and infrastructure. He did not succeed in accomplishing these. President Joe Biden has.

3. Unemployment was at 14.8 percent in April 2020. In May 2024 it was 4 percent, which is the lowest rate since at least December 2006.

4. Inflation has fallen from 9.1 percent in June 2022 to 3.27 percent.

5. Tariffs are not paid for by the manufacturer of goods, but by higher consumer prices, affecting lower wage earners the most.

6. According to the FBI, crime rose rapidly at the end of Mr. Trump’s term, perhaps due to COVID stressors. However, crime rates across all sectors are down and falling.

7. Billionaire Timothy Mellon has given $110 million to Republican candidates and funding committees in the 2024 election alone. He has also given $25 million to Robert Kennedy Jr. in an effort to take votes from President Biden. In this upcoming election, it pays to follow the money.

8. President Joe Biden has never been indicted or convicted of a felony or found liable for sexual assault.
