Letter: Support Battle Ground school levy

By Kevin Palena, Battle Ground

Voters have been clear in Battle Ground that they do not want to build new school buildings. Given the cost of construction, I understand. The problem of old buildings in need of repair remains, so what do we do?

Battle Ground Public Schools is asking the community to vote “Yes” on a capital levy. The money is to be used for building repairs and maintenance. Additionally, this levy will support upgrades to programs that will allow our students to stand out in a competitive job market.

Here’s the best part: This replaces a bond that expired in December; this is not an additional tax. Vote “Yes.”

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
