Letter: Perez should support cease-fire

Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s position on Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestine is abhorrent and ignorant. She continues to send out the same response to her constituents as she did months ago about the atrocities of Hamas, even as the innocent Palestinian body count piles up to the tens of thousands, nearly the entire population is displaced and the gleefully genocidal statements spoken by Israeli government officials continue unabated.

She speaks of the need for humanitarian aid for Gaza when the obvious first step to getting humanitarian aid in is to stop Israel’s insane bombing campaign of precious children and their families. If she cares about the humanitarian crisis, she should be calling for a permanent cease-fire and no funding to Israel to assist in its war crimes. None of this could happen without the complicity of the United States.

We don’t want our tax dollars funding this. It is not radical to represent your constituents and stand against aiding and abetting a clear genocide, and the blood is on your hands with every vote you cast in favor of it.

This is the lowest bar. Please grow a backbone, Ms. Perez, and stand on the right side of history.
