Girls basketball: Gracie Glavin leads Columbia River to 44-41 win over Mark Morris

Gracie Glavin and Camy Drake hit late free throws as the Columbia River girls basketball team held off Mark Morris 44-41 in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game in Longview.

River (10-5, 9-1) took a 29-19 lead into halftime before Mark Morris rallied. The Monarchs closed to within one point several times in the fourth quarter, but could not gain the lead.

Gracie Glavin scored 15 points to lead River. Emma Iniguez added 10 points and Marley Myers had nine.

Natalie Mejia and Reese Johnston had 12 points each for Mark Morris (8-6, 6-5).

HUDSON’S BAY 76, HOCKINSON 32 — Alana Stephens scored 39 points to lead the Eagles at Hockinson.

Siena Brown had 15 points and eight rebounds for Hockinson.

LA CENTER 37, BATTLE GROUND 33, OT — A balanced scoring attack led the 1A Wildcats to a non-league overtime win over a 4A foe.

Jesse Tomberline led La Center with eight points. Paige Sherry and Talia Wise scored seven each.
