Property tax exemption specialists from the Clark County Assessor’s office will be available to answer questions and enroll property owners in the county’s property tax relief program at an upcoming public event.

The tax exemption program for senior citizens and people with disabilities can reduce property tax liability for qualifying homeowners. Eligibility is based on age or disability, homeownership, residency and income. Participants are not required to repay the taxes, and their homes are not subject to property liens.

Representatives will be presenting information about the program at the Battle Ground Senior Center Luncheon, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 East Main St.

Exemption specialists will be on hand to enroll applicants from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Battle Ground City Council Chambers on the second floor at 109 Southwest First St.

To schedule an appointment for the event, call 564-397-2391 or email taxreduction@clark.wa.gov. Walk-ins also are welcome. Interested homeowners should bring photo ID, federal tax return, W-2 and/or 1099, and any deduction documentation.
