Letter: Remember events of Jan. 6

By Peter Brown, Vancouver
Published: January 16, 2024, 6:00am

I think that Jan. 6 should be a day of mourning, reflection and service.

It was a day of almost epic tragedy and comic stupidity in a grand manner. It must serve as a reminder that the little Hitler in all narcissistic demagogues runs strong in those deep and eerie places beyond logic and mythology. We have obviously not done enough to cast out the evil perpetrated that day, because the head is still attached to the body politic and may yet run again.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
