Nominees for the 2023-24 Week 13 Columbian prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger

Here are the nominees for The Columbian 2023-24 Week 14 high school athlete of the week, sponsored by Killer Burger.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.

Here are the nominees:

MADISYN CARDENS, SKYVIEW GIRLS WRESTLING: The sophomore, ranked No. 7 in the state at 235 pounds, earned a pin over another top-10 wrestler to help the Storm beat Union.

COLE CHESTER, RIDGEFIELD BOYS BASKETBALL: Averaged 22 points per game in a pair of wins, including a 28-point performance against Fort Vancouver.

JAMES CRAWFORD, CAMAS BOYS SWIMMING: The junior won the 200 individual medley, the 100 freestyle and swam on two winning relay teams in a meet against four other schools at Gold’s Gym.

JENNA KLOPMAN, WASHOUGAL GIRLS BASKETBALL: The sophomore guard averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals in two wins, including a double-double against Hockinson.

AVA RODMAN, R.A. LONG GIRLS BOWLING: The reigning 2A GSHL bowler of the year rolled 204-212 in a win over Ridgefield as the Lumberjills improved to 12-1 this season.
