Letter: County lucky to have Kimsey

By Thomas R. Carney, Vancouver
Published: January 10, 2024, 6:00am

We are lucky to have Greg Kimsey as county auditor. He is honest and straightforward, which are two of the reasons he receives so much flak from nincompoops that live outside of Clark County.

Every time I hear or read that Ronald Reagan said, “Government is the problem,” I loudly disagree. He sold out his Hollywood union when he was president. He made drastic increases in the cost of post-secondary education in California, which deprived a lot of people the opportunity they earned. By drastically increasing the military budget when everyone who pays attention knew Russia was a joke, he set sail on a course of federal budget deficits that continue today. He was right about one thing though, the government with him in charge was a problem.
