Washington State Patrol troopers are investigating a hit-and-run Wednesday after a pedestrian walking on the shoulder of Interstate 5 north of Woodland was struck by a car.

The pedestrian, identified as Harinder Singh, 42, of Turlock, Calif., was injured and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, the State Patrol said.

Troopers responded at 12:15 a.m. to I-5 south near Milepost 22. Investigators determined an unknown vehicle was traveling in the right lane when it struck Singh and kept going, according to a crash memo.

Investigators do not know the identity of the driver or whether drugs or alcohol were involved, the crash memo states.
