Recently, after another mass shooting, Donald Trump advised mourners to “get over it.” He who can’t “get over” his 2020 election loss says “get over” losing loved ones in another needless, preventable gun-related slaughter.
His callousness aside, Trump seemed to suggest “get over it” should replace the equally useless GOP chant “thoughts and prayers.” Though neither slogan does — or even suggests doing — anything to help, Trump may be on to something. “Get over it” is more truthful than “thoughts and prayers” in that it shows how little they care.
Take the border: They screamed Biden wasn’t doing enough, then Biden said yes, Trump said no, and Trump’s acolytes shut up. So much for integrity.
Trump also said he wants the economy to tank with Biden in office. Basically, Trump imagines only he can “fix everything” and thus deserves endless praise.
