Letter: Support for Trump is blasphemous

By Mike Barrett, Vancouver
Published: February 16, 2024, 6:00am

Just read the letter sent by Don Howard of Camas (“Nothing godly about Trump,” Our Readers’ Views, Feb. 5). He questioned a woman he saw on TV saying she’s “doing the Lord’s work” by helping Donald Trump.

Howard then goes on to question why she feels that way and lists many of Trump’s acts that would be contrary to the teachings of the Lord/Jesus Christ. Well, Don, I agree with you and I’ll go a step further. It has been my contention for years now that anyone who claims to be a Christian yet supports this man is not and never has been a true Christian. In fact, the word blasphemous comes to mind. I’ll add this, if you don’t like Biden that’s fine, you can vote for no one. But supporting Trump is, as Howard stated, is “supporting someone far different than the Lord.”
