Letter: Give conspiracy theories the boot

By Randolph Cate, Vancouver

The fixation by the right on the singer and athlete is a typical attempt at distraction. So, with respect to songwriters Paul Craft and Ms. Swift, I submit a quote and an adaptation as a comment supporting Eugene Robinson’s excellent column (“Swift is driving MAGA mad,” The Columbian, Feb. 3):

Drop kick us, people, through the goal posts of life.

End over end, neither left nor the right.

If ever, whenever or never together, we’ll be all right.

So, take off your tin hats and let in some light.

I am not holding my breath.
