Letter: Supporters blind to Trump’s faults

Responding to Bob Mattila’s letter (“Chaos because we are ungodly,” Our Readers’ Views, Feb. 2), I must express my shock at his twisting of President Joe Biden’s service and that of Donald Trump. Mattila claims that Catholic President Biden is ungodly while Trump was so “Christian” even though he caged children and split up families, among other sins. He mentions the debacle of the removal of the U.S. from Afghanistan as being a disaster because it happened so quickly, but he ignores that it was scheduled and planned by the previous administration.

He goes on and finally mentions the Ten Commandments and asks whether it is OK to hurt and kill, commit adultery, lie, etc. I guess he does not know about the over 30,000 proven lies from Trump during his term, the adultery he committed with Stormy Daniels (not his first documented case of proven adultery), the money he stole from those who worked for him by refusing to pay what he owed, etc. I could go on to show how Trump has repeatedly violated every one of the Ten Commandment. Maybe Mr. Mattila should follow Christ’s instructions to remove the plank from his own eye before he mentions the splinter in another’s eye.
