Boys Wrestling: Jackson Lougen, Luke Webb lead Camas to 4A title

Prairie wins 3A boys regional title

Led by individual champions Jackson Lougen and Luke Webb, Camas won the team title at the 4A Boys Region 3 Wrestling Championships on Saturday at Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup.

Camas found success at the heavier weights with Webb capturing the 285-pound title and Lougen triumphing at 190 pounds. Elliott Scott reached the championship match at 215 pounds.

Camas finished with 157 points, four ahead of Sumner. Skyview placed third out of 14 teams with 137 points.

Skyview had three individual champions. Freshmen twin brothers Jonas DesRochers and Mason DesRochers won at 113 and 120 pounds, respectively. Owen Pritchard, the state’s top-ranked 126-pounder, won that weight class.

Union’s Noah Koyama, a state runner-up last year, triumphed at 138 pounds. His teammate Amir Lisichenko earned the title at 150 pounds.

Prairie edges Kelso for 3A regional title

Mason Frei and Seth Blick won individual titles as Prairie edged Kelso to win the 3A Boys Region 2 Wrestling Championship at Eastside Catholic High in Sammamish.

Repeating as regional champ, Frei won his 175-pound title match by a third-period pin over Eli Policarpio of Chief Sealth. Blick then also defended his title with a first-period pin of Mountain View’s Rylan Reineback in the 190-pound championship.

Prairie finished with 194 points, five ahead of Kelso. Mountain View was fourth out of 20 teams with 165 points.

Kelso had five finalists at 132 pounds or lighter. Wesley Leeper won at 106, Preston Myren at 113, Kolton Rice at 126 and Justin Broxton at 132.

Mountain View had three champions. Ayden Denbo pinned Evergreen’s Makhi Miller in the first period of the 215-pound title match. Kingston McPherson won at 150 and Nathan Wadleigh triumphed at 157.

Chromey, Eiesland win 1A titles for La Center

Isaac Chromey and Wyatt Eiesland captured championships at the 1A Boys Region 2 Championships in Hoquiam.

Chromey won the 165-pound title match 4-3, taking the lead over Castle Rock’s Ian Burton with a reversal in the second period. The junior held on through a scoreless third period.

Eiesland triumphed at 215 pounds, pinning Seton Catholic’s Roman Tabile in 1:38.

Ashton Baker of King’s Way Christian was the lone additional champion. The senior earned a 5-0 victory over Stevenson’s Kazen Polsel in the 150-pound title match.

Castle Rock won the team title, edging Elma 218-211.5.
