In a new era of hybrid work, Will Fulmer’s business partners have increasingly made jokes about his regular struggles to find a spot of cell service in his home.
“They made fun of me, being an IT company and having horrible cell phone reception,” he said.
Fulmer, 42, doesn’t live out in the country — he lives right outside Philadelphia in the Bala Cynwyd section of Lower Merion, one of the Pennsylvania’s most populated townships.
His cell service woes have bonded him with neighbors at backyard barbecues, in the bleachers at his children’s’ sporting events, and on community Facebook groups. They usually respond to his gripes, he said, with some version of “Oh my god, you guys have the same problem.”
