Letter: Mill Plain Vine is not working

I read with interest the Mill Plain Vine article (“Passengers of C-Tran’s The Vine on Mill Plain adjust to new route,” The Columbian, Jan. 2). It quoted Eric Florip, manager of communications and marketing, as saying early returns are positive. Maybe customer service doesn’t forward the C-Tran comment cards to him or he doesn’t attend the public meetings.

The Vine is late a lot, even though it doesn’t travel as far as the old Mill Plain route used to and make as many stops. C-Tran hasn’t figured out that one late Vine bus could go to deboarding status only, so that there wouldn’t be a snowball effect.

I still haven’t figured out the reader board system. It will say the Vine is arriving in one minute, go to arriving, go back to one minute, arriving and then go to arriving in 14 minutes.

Florip said they might put a westbound stop at Chkalov, what a laugh; 120th Avenue would be better. Now we have to take two buses, spend more time and money, when in the past we only had to take one bus. I wish an ADA lawyer would look into the situation.
