Clark County has changed dramatically in the past decade. Nowhere is that more evident than on the Columbia River Economic Development Council’s list of organizations that employ the most workers in the county.

Some industries have blossomed, such as health care. Nonprofit health care system PeaceHealth moved its headquarters to Vancouver at the end of 2010, boosting its Clark County employment footprint. And Legacy Health and the Vancouver Clinic’s local workforces have exploded over the past decade.

Manufacturing was a big industry in Clark County about a decade ago, but employment numbers have since plateaued, pushing companies including WaferTech out of the Top 10 list.

The Cowlitz Indian Tribe’s ilani casino opened in 2017, followed by an events center and a hotel. ilani now employs more than a thousand people in the county.

Vancouver software company ZoomInfo, known as DiscoverOrg in 2014, now has a substantial presence here, as well.
