The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a 39-year-old woman  as the victim in a Wednesday homicide in central Vancouver.

Keomany Phetchitvathanalay died from multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said Friday. Her city of residence was unknown.

According to a Friday statement from the Vancouver Police Department, officers were called about 4 a.m. to the 3500 block of Northeast 66th Avenue near the intersection of state Highway 500 and Andresen Road.

Police found a woman dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside a tent in a secluded area.

The medical examiner’s office said the shooting occurred on the city street. Vancouver police said it appeared to be a drive-by shooting.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating. The agency does not believe the shooting was random and said there is no current threat to the public.

Pieces of yellow and red crime scene tape remained Wednesday afternoon tied to a fence at the edge of a green space along the highway. Several tents that people appeared to be living in stood vacant.

Anyone with information about the case should contact Vancouver police.
