Letter: Vote for problem solvers

Joe Kent, member of the party that opposed the infrastructure bill, now wants the federal government to pay for all of the Interstate 5 Bridge replacement. Me, too, but that ship has sailed. John Ley thinks some third bridge from somewhere to somewhere is more important than I-5. And Brad Benton claims criminals are going to use mass transit (transfer please; and hurry!) instead of blending into 400,000 vehicles a day crossing the two bridges. These three right-wing candidates share many other MAGA positions and agendas.

If you are curious as to what happens to states that have the MAGA government slant, just check out some “red” state statistics and compare them with those of Washington. Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama have lower per-capita gross domestic product and life expectancy. They have higher poverty levels, infant and maternal mortality rates and murder rates.

This pattern is typical of most “red” states with some exceptions. We have problems. But let’s not “MAGAfy” them. Vote for problem solvers, not problem creators.
