A bicyclist did not survive his injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon while crossing Mill Plain Boulevard near PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in central Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Police said the bicyclist was crossing the intersection near 87th Avenue about 1:30 p.m. to head north and was struck by a vehicle heading east on Mill Plain.

The bicyclist was taken to PeaceHealth with life-threatening injuries but later died. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office will release his identity and cause and manner of death.

The driver stopped and was cooperative with police. There were no signs of impairment with the driver of the vehicle, police said.

The department’s traffic unit is continuing to investigate.
