Letter: Some immigrants are welcome

By William J. Gerow Jr., VANCOUVER

I smiled when I read Dick Lee’s letter (“An observation about Republicans,” Our Readers’ Views, Aug. 23) about Donald Trump and JD Vance’s wives being immigrants or the daughter of immigrants. But I think Mr. Lee misunderstands what the core of Trump and Vance’s anti-immigration stance is. It’s not immigration per se, but rather brown immigration. Of course, they dare not say that out loud, although it couldn’t be more obvious.
