Construction at the intersection of Northeast 179th Street and Northeast 50th Avenue will begin this week, causing delays and lane closures.
Crews will add a left-turn lane on the east and west legs of the intersection. The left-turn lane is intended to be temporary until construction of planned a roundabout.
Construction is weather dependent, but the project is anticipated to be completed by the end of November.
With anticipated growth in the area over the next 20 years, these upgrades aim to accommodate future traffic volumes while ensuring safety and mobility, according to a news release.
