Open house in Camas focuses on fire safety

The Camas-Washougal Fire Department is hosting an Open House, Health and Safety Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28 at Station 42, 4321 N.W. Parker St., Camas.

Attendees can see live kitchen fire demonstrations at 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., a kids interactive vehicle fire suppression demonstration at 11:15 a.m., a house fire simulation with sprinkler demonstration at 11:45 a.m., a vehicle extrication demonstration at 12:45 p.m. and a Clark County Sheriff’s K-9 unit exhibition at 1:15 p.m.

Local organizations, including NW Natural, will have exhibits focused on health, safety and emergency preparedness.

The family-friendly event is free. It will include balloon twister and face painting for the kids, and ice cream, hot dogs and treats.
