Patriot Day Salute set for Sept. 11

The Community Military Appreciation Committee will present its annual 9/11 Patriot Day Salute ceremony 9 a.m. Sept. 11 at Vancouver City Hall, 415 W. Sixth St.

The ceremony honors the men and women who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Retired Army Col. Larry J. Smith will emcee. Speakers will include Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle and Vancouver Fire Department Fire Chief Brennan Blue. The event will feature a “Final Alarm” by the Vancouver Fire Department Honor Guard, a dove release and wreath-laying ceremony. The ceremony will be filmed and available to stream on the Clark/Vancouver Television website www.cvtv.org, and Community Military Appreciation Committee’s website www.cmac11.com.
