An Eagle Scout mapped sinking ships; his project helped remove derelict boats from Lake River

The state reimbursed the Port of Ridgefield for removal costs

One Ridgefield Eagle Scout’s concerns about water safety have led to ongoing cleanup of some of the largest pieces of trash ever left behind in local waterways: boats.

Five abandoned vessels have been removed from Lake River near Ridgefield so far this year, and 10 more will likely be removed before the year is over.
