Schools across Clark County are hosting immunization clinics at district locations this week as the start of the 2024-2025 school year draws nearer.

The list of necessary immunizations for children attending K-12 schools in Washington for this school year is unchanged from last year:

A COVID-19 vaccine or annual booster is not required but, like the seasonal influenza vaccine, is recommended.

Clark County has had outbreaks of measles and whooping cough in the last decade.

District staff, with the help of local and state health officials, are administering the various necessary vaccines for free or low cost. For each of the following locations, appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. Parents must bring their child’s immunization records.

Among the vaccines Washington requires students to receive is one that protects against whooping cough, otherwise known as pertussis. Clark County Public Health has reported a 750 percent increase in the recorded number of pertussis cases as of June compared with the same time last year.
