Several Vancouver Subway restaurants recently closed abruptly without explanation.
The six locations that closed are all owned and operated by Lake Oswego, Ore.-based CapTen Enterprises Inc., according to state records. A CapTen representative didn’t respond to The Columbian’s inquiries.
A Vancouver woman has filed a discrimination lawsuit against a Mexican restaurant chain, which she alleges fired her because she was pregnant.

Bend, Ore.-developer Pahlisch Commercial is clearing the block bordered by 12th and 13th streets and Main Street and Broadway formerly occupied by Vancouver Funeral Chapel and two other commercial buildings. The company plans to construct a seven-story mixed-use building called 12th & Main. It will include 20,000 square feet of commercial space and 198 multifamily units, according to planning documents from the city of Vancouver.
One person was injured in a hit-and-run crash on state Highway 14 in Vancouver on Sunday night.
According to a Washington State Patrol crash memo, two vehicles were eastbound on Highway 14 about 9:40 p.m., just west of Interstate 205, when a GMC truck rear-ended a 2002 Buick LeSabre driven by Nicholas R. Coleman, 36, of Portland.
Carissa Larkin feared for her life after obtaining a civil domestic violence protection order in April against her former fiance.
In her petition, Larkin, 32, wrote that Kyle Palmer owned firearms: “I am unsure of what Kyle is capable of but fear retaliation.”
