Clark Public Utilities is encouraging customers who qualify to apply for a $200 Washington Families Clean Energy Credit.

The first-come, first-served program’s application portal closes Sept. 1.

Customers making up to 80 percent of the area median income have started receiving a one-time $200 utility bill credit. Those earning up to 150 percent may also apply, though its not certain if they will receive the credit.

If approved, Clark Public Utilities will apply the credit directly to the customer’s account.

About $1.76 million is still available, enough for about 8,800 additional recipients. The utility has so far applied about $6.8 million in credits.
