ilani summons barbecue masters to compete in Smokin’ Hot BBQ Competition

Teams of up to six barbecuers are encouraged to sign up for the Smokin’ Hot BBQ Competition on Aug. 24 and 25 at ilani, 1 Cowlitz Way, Ridgefield. All teams will have their barbecue rigs on ilani’s parking garage rooftop, along with food vendors, breweries and wineries. Teams will cook two items each day: pork bellies, salmon, beef ribs and baby back ribs for a chance at winning 12 cash prizes totalling $15,000. Meanwhile, 17 barbecue experts, pitmasters and chefs from around the country will give live demonstrations, creating a Pitmasters Party with barbecue samples for ticketholders. Registration is $50.
