One person was injured in a hit-and-run crash on state Highway 14 in Vancouver on Sunday night.

According to a Washington State Patrol crash memo, two vehicles were eastbound on Highway 14 about 9:40 p.m., just west of Interstate 205, when a GMC truck rear-ended a 2002 Buick LeSabre driven by Nicholas R. Coleman, 36, of Portland.

The GMC fled the scene, according to the agency. No other description of the GMC was available.

Coleman was trapped in the vehicle. Vancouver Fire Department crews worked for 22 minutes to extricate Coleman from the damaged Buick. According to the fire department, eastbound Highway 14 was closed for an hour for the heavy extrication.

Coleman was not wearing a seat belt; he was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in stable condition.

The Buick was totaled.

The Washington State Patrol is investigation the cause of the crash. Anyone with information about the crash should contact the state patrol.
