A Vancouver woman was killed in a personal watercraft crash Thursday on Lacamas Lake.

The Camas Police Department identified the woman as Angela Narciso, 48.

Shortly after 7 p.m., emergency services received a call that two watercraft driven by people who knew each other collided. Narciso and a 10-year-old child — both wearing flotation devices — were thrown into the water. A nearby boater rescued them and performed lifesaving efforts on Narciso. The child was not injured.

Narciso was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The Camas Police Department is investigating the incident and asks any witnesses who have not already contacted police to contact Sgt. Stefan Hausinger at 360-817-1503 or shausinger@cityofcamas.us.

“We are deeply saddened to hear of this deadly outcome from what should have been a fun summer day on our beautiful lake,” Camas Police Chief Tina Jones said in a news release.
