Driver killed in crash near Yacolt after truck catches fire and hits a tree

A driver was killed in a truck crash near Yacolt on Wednesday evening.

According to a Thursday morning statement from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, a witness called 911 around 7 p.m. to report two trucks had been in a crash in the 29700 block of Northeast Railroad Avenue, at the northeast end of Moulton Falls Regional Park.

One of the trucks caught fire and hit a tree, according to the agency.

Medics tried to treat the patient at the scene but the driver died.

Neither drivers’ identity has been released.

The Clark County Traffic Homicide Unit is conducting an investigation.

Clark County Fire District 13 also responded. The road was closed in both directions for the investigation.
