Get ready to party with the annual Perseid meteor shower; Oregon’s Rooster Rock is a great place to see it

Astronomical event peaks next week and you may be able to see it from some places in Clark County

Nearly one year ago, a crowd gathered under dark skies in the Columbia River Gorge to lie back, look up and send cheers, applause and yelps of amazement into space.

Many of the same folks will be back on the night of Aug. 12, eager for a repeat of the same extraordinary sky show.
