Kyle Memarian went 4 for 5 with five RBI and four other Raptors belted home runs as the Ridgefield Raptors completed a three-game sweep of the Springfield Drifters with a 16-12 victory on Saturday at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Center.
Taylor Takata, Dasan Harris, Hunter Katschke and Colby Wallace belted home runs as the Raptors maintained their narrow lead over Portland in the second-half standings of the West Coast League’s South Division.
The Drifters scored four times in the top of the first to grab an early lead. Harris’ solo home run in the bottom of the first got one run back for the Raptors.
Wallace hit a solo home run and Takata added a two-run homer to put the Raptors up 6-4 with a five-run second inning.
A four-run fifth for the Drifters put them back ahead 8-6. Harris had a two-run single to cap a three-run fifth as the Raptors took a 9-8 lead over Springfield.
After the Drifters tied the game 9-9 in the top of the sixth, Memarian belted a two-run double to put Ridgefield back up 11-9. The Raptors added two more runs in the sixth to go up 13-9.
Memarian, who also scored three runs, added an RBI single in the seventh and Katschke belted a two-run home run in the eighth to round out the scoring for the Raptors.
Julian Nunez went 3 for 4 with four runs, Harris was 3 for 5 with three RBI and Takata was 2 for 5 with two runs and three RBI.
Eight of nine Raptors in the lineup collected at least one hit, and every Raptor batter scored at least one run.
Nunez also stole three bases as the Raptors had eight stolen bases in the game.
Drew Townson threw a scoreless sixth inning to earn the victory. Camden Oram pitched the final three innings to earn the save.
The Raptors (30-21 overall, 20-5 second half) cap their regular season with a three-game series at Walla Walla starting Tuesday. Ridgefield will head to Walla Walla with at least a half-game lead over Portland in the second-half standings. Portland played Yakima Valley later on Sunday.
