Letter: Democrats threaten democracy

By Etha Bohr, VANCOUVER

The Democrats are the real “threat to democracy.”

They are the party that disregarded millions of their voters’ will who voted for Joe Biden, not Kamala Harris, in the primaries — not democracy.

Lyndon Johnson said on March 31, 1968, that he wasn’t running, so Democrats could vote for Bobby Kennedy or McGovern or Wallace. That was fair. That was democracy.

Now big donors and party elites have chosen someone who the voters didn’t vote for.

“Threat to Democracy?” Yes, Democrats. As an independent, shame on the Democrats.
