The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday officially identified the people killed in a central Vancouver murder-suicide last week.

Carissa L. Larkin, 32, died July 25 from multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of her central Vancouver apartment complex. The medical examiner’s office ruled her death a homicide.

Kyle L. Palmer, 38, died from a gunshot wound to the head in the parking lot. The office said his death was a suicide.

Shortly after 8 a.m., a caller reported seeing a man in the parking lot of the complex in the 4300 block of Plomondon Street with a gun and then hearing gunshots, Vancouver police said in a news release.

When police arrived, they found Larkin and Palmer dead, the department said.

A GoFundMe made by Larkin’s friends and family to raise funds for her funeral and the care of her three children identified her earlier this week. The fundraiser’s organizer, a friend of Larkin’s, said Palmer was Larkin’s former fiance, and they’d been separated since April.

Court records show Larkin was granted a protection order against Palmer in April in Clark County Superior Court. Larkin sought to prohibit Palmer from having contact with her three children while a police investigation was pending into reports of abuse.
