Last week, I was one of many trying to fly home. I started in Reno then Salt Lake and finally Portland, with one cancellation and many delays.
I finally arrived home many hours later at 1:39 a.m. However, all the people I encountered — and there were many — were not angry, they were nice. Everyone was helping each other.
When gate information was incorrect, people worked together to find out updates. When flight crews arrived, people would cheer.
The overworked gate staff frantically trying to rebook flights were also given a round of applause. Just when I had given up on society it showed me kindness and humanity is still alive.
