FAIRGROUNDS — Clark County Quilters held their annual Quiltfest Northwest show the first weekend in April at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds. Each day, a military veteran was presented with a Quilt of Valor in a special ceremony. Those recognized were:

Mary Muoth, U.S. Army lieutenant and U.S. Navy commander, served as a critical care nurse during the Vietnam War, the Persian Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as at Cutler Army Hospital and San Diego Naval Hospital.

John Hatfield, U.S. Army sergeant, served two tours in the signal and radio corps at Quy Nhon, Vietnam and at Fort Lewis.

Fabian Angobung served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman and in the Navy mentor program.

Clark County Quilters, established in 1974, is a nonprofit organization that meets monthly. Anyone with an interest in quilting is welcome. Visit www.clarkcountyquilters.com.
