The Camas Papermakers baseball team got what they needed Friday and the end result was holding onto the 4A Greater St. Helens League title.
Camas scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning and then held on to beat Skyview 4-3, while not too far down the road, Union beat Battle Ground 6-3 and the combination of those two results put the Papermakers on top of the 4A GSHL for another season.
Down 3-2, Andrew Miller started the seventh with a double for Camas (13-6, 6-3 4A GSHL) and advanced to third on an error. Charlie Barr then singled home Miller to tie the game.
With two outs and the bases loaded, Anthony Forner came through with a single to center field that scored pinch runner Seth TenEyck and the Papermakers led 4-3.
Skyview (10-8, 4-5) wasn’t done going into the bottom of the seventh. The Storm had the bases loaded with two outs on a walk, single and hit-by-pitch but Camas escaped as Skyview’s final batter popped out to second base.
