Letter: Support democracy, not Trump

Every voter has a responsibility to be informed about candidates and issues. If a candidate is delusional enough to still believe the 2020 election was stolen or the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, riot at our nation’s Capitol was a peaceful demonstration, chances are they won’t be making decisions on our behalf based on proven facts but on the lies they spread and believe.

Donald Trump has been a lying, cheating crook his entire adult life. He has 88 criminal indictments against him and owes half a billion dollars in civil penalties resolved in court. That’s called criminal.

Trump telling our NATO allies he would not help defend them against a Russian attack is a slap in the face to defenders of democracy. Joe Biden was voted into the Senate in 1972 and has been working within and upholding our democracy ever since. He strongly defends all of our allies. That’s called stability and integrity.

Be informed. Stand up and support our democracy, or you’ll fall for the lies of a criminal.
