Letter: Lewallen is best for Republicans

With the campaign season heating up, it is critical for 3rd Congressional District Republicans to begin preparing to win the general election. Simply winning the primary and losing in the general, as was the track record of our failed candidate in 2022, shouldn’t be our objective.

Although I want to thank Joe Kent for his military service, he is not the candidate who will return our district to the conservative side of the aisle. Fortunately for us, we have a chance to vote for a true conservative and lifelong Washingtonian. Leslie Lewallen has a proven track record when it comes to serving her community, and she has actually won an election.

Our fringe candidate lost the seat in 2022. We can’t afford to let him repeat that effort this year. We must put our support behind a winner. Please be sure to vote in the August primary and mark your ballot for our next congresswoman, Leslie Lewallen.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
