The Trico League baseball title could be determined Friday.
Or not.
Seton Catholic and La Center are both 4-1 after splitting a doubleheader on Wednesday and will face off again in a single game Friday at Harmony Sports Complex.
Both teams still have games with King’s Way Christian upcoming so nothing is settled, but Friday’s game could go a long way in determining the final standings.
Seton Catholic won the first game at La Center 7-0 behind a solid pitching effort from Kolten Gesser and the hot leadoff bat of Teddy Wieczorek.
Gesser threw a complete game with six strikeouts and was also 1 for 3 with two RBI. Wieczorek went 4 for 4 with a double, two RBI, and scored two runs.
La Center got even with a 5-1 win in the second game. Smith Stimmel pitched six innings of three-hit ball and Garrett Maunu pitched the seventh, allowing one hit with a strikeout. After the hit, La Center turned a double play to end the game.
Alex Mora went 2 for 2 with a double and three RBI for the Wildcats, and Stimmel also drove in a run.
