The 22-year-old man who died Saturday in a single-vehicle crash has been identified as Victor Celedonio Montes, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office. His place of residence is unknown.

Montes’ death was ruled an accident, and he died from multiple blunt force trauma, the medical examiner’s office said in a news release Wednesday.

The Vancouver Police Department responded before 10 p.m. Saturday to a single-vehicle crash on Northeast Andresen Road, just north of Northeast 63rd Street. Montes was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the SUV was northbound on Andresen when Montes apparently failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle hit the curb, went up the embankment on the east side of the road and crashed into trees. Evidence at the scene indicated the vehicle was rolling as it hit the trees.

Speed was a factor in the crash, according to police. The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is still investigating.
