Defense came up a big for a second consecutive week as Mark Morris opened 2A Greater St. Helens League play with a 21-3 over Columbia River at Longview Memorial Stadium on Friday.
Coming off a 22-0 win at Astoria last week, Mar Morris (2-1, 1-0 2A GSHL) jumped ahead 7-0 in the first quarter on a Kenneth Mullen touchdown pass to Decker Bartell.
After a field goal by Aeden Pena cut the margin to 7-3, Asa Pineda’s 1-yard touchdown run gave Mark Morris a 14-3 halftime lead.
Eddie Booth’s 3-yard touchdown pass from Cade Warren capped the scoring in the third quarter.
