Letter: Trump instigates crimes

I’ve been hearing a lot about the events of Jan. 6 and Trump. My question is what was so different between what Charles Manson did during the Tate/LaBianca murders and what Trump did during the Jan. 6 attempt to overthrow our government?

Neither were actually there, nor did either of them ever kill anyone, but both instigated/encouraged people to execute those events with their influence and both events resulted in murder.

Neither admitted to their involvement, Trump or Manson, in the events but their respective followers from each said they were influenced by them. Why did Manson get life and Trump is still walking free? Or is justice based on social standing?
