Projects to reduce speeding and improve livability in the Green Meadows neighborhood and the Parkside, Parkway East and Burnt Bridge Creek neighborhoods received funding from the city of Vancouver’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program.

The two projects were selected from a group of eight. The program’s budget this year is roughly $300,000. The project will be designed this winter and spring with project implementation targeted for next summer or fall.

The program offers community members the opportunity to champion projects that reduce residential speeding and improve livability through a competitive selection process for funding and implementation.

The Green Meadows neighborhood project will be located at Northeast 72nd Avenue from Northeast 63rd Street to Northeast 78th Street. The Parkside, Parkway East and Burnt Bridge Creek neighborhoods project will be at Northeast 39th Street, from Northeast 137th Avenue to Northeast 162nd Avenue.
