Trico League football: La Center 34, Castle Rock 17

Jalen Ward rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns as La Center clinched their its consecutive Trico League championship with a 34-17 win at Castle Rock on Friday.

After Castle Rock took an early 3-0 lead, Ward scored two of his touchdowns during a 27-point second quarter for La Center. Ward’s third touchdown run came in the third quarter as La Center extended its lead to 34-3.

La Center will host Elma in next week’s district playoffs on Friday. Castle Rock will travel to play at Eatonville on Thursday.
