The Clark County Council on Tuesday approved an emergency resolution allowing the county to expedite repairs needed related to network security issues discovered over the weekend.

County staff are working with an outside forensic consultant to investigate the incident.

“Clark County takes information security very seriously. We will continue to diligently monitor networks and take action to safeguard the systems,” Joni McAnally, communications specialist for the county, said in an email Tuesday.

The Information Technology department became aware of suspicious activity on the county network on Saturday and immediately began its investigation.

Some parts of the county website remain unavailable while the investigation and repairs continue, including the Property Information Center and Geographic Information Services. Some county services may also be unavailable.

McAnally said there was no indication that residents’ data or any other data was stolen.

Updates will be posted on the county website at www.clark.wa.gov, and linked to the information ribbon at the top of the page.
