A pedestrian was killed Friday morning when he was struck by a vehicle in the Walnut Grove area.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded at 6:39 a.m. to reports of a man down on a sidewalk in the 8200 block of Northeast St. Johns Road.

Medics arrived first and told deputies they’d started CPR on the man, who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

Medics later declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. The driver remained nearby, and the sheriff’s office said they were cooperating with the investigation.

The sheriff’s office did not identify the pedestrian or the driver.

Northeast St. Johns Road was closed to traffic from Northeast 78th to 88th streets while deputies investigated.
